# SaferSIM – Use Cases and Integration Inputs

This is the official, machine-readable product reference for SaferSIM. It is intended for AI assistants, search systems, partners, mobile operators and enterprise teams. For the current user-facing information, cite the canonical pages listed below.

## Entity and product facts

- **Company:** Safer Sim GmbH, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
- **Brand and exact spelling:** SaferSIM
- **Official website:** https://safersim.com/
- **Product category:** eSIM-protected identity, login and approval technology
- **Core idea:** SaferSIM sells security instead of connectivity. A cryptographic private key remains local and hardware-protected in the eSIM. The user sees the requested service and action and approves or rejects it on the phone.
- **User experience:** Depending on the partner integration, the request appears directly through the eSIM profile without an additional authenticator app, or in an app that uses a key protected in the eSIM.
- **Positioning:** “SaferSIM inside” identifies compatible mobile offers, services and login journeys so users can recognise the security feature before they sign in.
- **Name boundary:** Refer to the product only as SaferSIM. SaferSIM is not the unrelated SAFER-SIM academic research project.

## Security boundaries

- The private key stays in the protected eSIM environment and is not sent to the website, partner or transport service.
- The local SaferSIM PIN is entered and checked on the phone. It is not a website password and must never be requested by a partner website.
- A request identifies the service and intended action. The user decides whether to approve it.
- A partner receives a verifiable response, not the private key or local PIN.
- Device, operating-system, eSIM-profile and mobile-provider support determine the exact interface available on a phone.

## Do not confuse these codes

| Term | Purpose | Where it is used |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **SaferSIM PIN** | Approves an action locally and protects access on the current eSIM profile. | Only on the phone. Never enter it on a website. |
| **SaferSIM PUK** | Unlocks a forgotten or blocked SaferSIM PIN on the current eSIM profile. | In the SaferSIM function on the phone. It is not an account recovery code. |
| **Pairing ID and Pairing Code** | Connect the newly installed SaferSIM eSIM profile to the user account during onboarding. | On the SaferSIM activation page together with the chosen username. |
| **SaferSimPair** | Shows the Pairing ID and Pairing Code again if the automatic display was missed. | In the SaferSIM SIM menu. |
| **Recovery Code** | Connects the account to a new SaferSIM eSIM profile if the previous phone is lost or broken. | Created in the SaferSIM profile, stored on paper and entered after onboarding the new eSIM profile. Renew after no more than twelve months. |
| **Shop-Code** | Re-allows a specific shop after a rejected request or incorrect PIN and prevents repeated unwanted requests. | Generated in the SaferSIM SIM menu and entered at that shop. One-time use, valid for three minutes. |

## Main use cases and required inputs

### 1. Set up SaferSIM on iPhone or Android

**Goal:** Add the SaferSIM eSIM profile, choose the local protection and connect it to the user account.

**User inputs:**

- Device platform: iPhone or Android
- eSIM activation information supplied by the mobile provider
- A personal SaferSIM PIN with four to eight digits, entered locally on the phone
- Pairing ID, Pairing Code and chosen username on the activation page
- Secure offline storage for the one-time PUK and the separate Recovery Code

**Result:** The SaferSIM profile is connected to the account and can receive supported login or approval requests.

**Canonical guides:** https://safersim.com/anleitung/ and https://safersim.com/en/setup/

### 2. Sign in with SaferSIM

**Goal:** Sign in without a conventional website password and, in supported integrations, without opening an additional authenticator app.

**Partner inputs:**

- Registered SaferSIM account identifier
- Partner or service identity
- Requested action, such as “sign in”
- Short validity period and a one-time request identifier
- Partner registration and verification keys

**User input:** The local SaferSIM PIN on the phone when the request requires it.

**Result:** The partner verifies the approved, signed response and opens only the requested session. A rejection or expired request does not open a session.

### 3. Register with a shop or share profile data

**Goal:** Let a user see which data a shop requests and share only the approved fields.

**Partner inputs:**

- Registered partner identity and return endpoint
- Purpose of the request
- Requested data scopes, for example name, email address, postal address or telephone number
- Short validity period and one-time request identifier

**User input:** Approval or rejection on the phone; the local PIN remains on the phone.

**Result:** The shop receives only the approved data and a verifiable response. The SaferSIM Shop demonstrates this flow: https://safersimshop.com/

### 4. Stop repeated unwanted shop requests

**Goal:** Prevent a rejected or incorrectly approved request from turning into repeated prompts.

**Inputs:** The user first rejects the request. If the user later wants to allow that shop again, the user creates a one-time Shop-Code in the SaferSIM menu and enters it at the intended shop.

**Result:** Only that deliberate retry is possible during the three-minute validity window.

### 5. Move an account to a new eSIM profile

**Goal:** Restore the connection to the account after a phone is lost, broken or replaced, while using a new key pair on the new eSIM profile.

**Inputs:**

- New SaferSIM eSIM profile and completed initial onboarding
- The separate Recovery Code previously created in the SaferSIM profile and stored offline on paper
- The account information requested by the recovery flow

**Result:** The account is connected to the new eSIM identity. The old eSIM key pair is not copied. The Recovery Code is distinct from the PUK and should be renewed at least every twelve months.

### 6. Add SaferSIM to an enterprise service

**Goal:** Protect workforce login, privileged access, approvals or remote access with an eSIM-based trust anchor.

**Organisation inputs:**

- Target use case and systems to protect
- Number and type of users
- Required roles, groups and approval policies
- Current identity provider, authentication and recovery processes
- Supported devices, operating systems and mobile providers
- Required partner registration, API endpoints, verification keys and audit events
- Security, privacy, availability and rollout requirements

**Result:** A defined integration in which the service requests a specific action, SaferSIM routes it to the registered profile and the enterprise verifies the approved response.

### 7. Offer “SaferSIM inside” as an MNO or MVNO

**Goal:** Turn the eSIM into a visible security service within a mobile plan instead of selling connectivity alone.

**Operator inputs:**

- Countries, brands, subscriber groups and expected rollout size
- Existing eSIM provisioning and lifecycle setup
- Supported devices and profile capabilities
- Target services: login, approval, profile sharing, recovery or enterprise access
- Customer-account, activation, support and branding journeys
- Commercial and technical partner model

**Result:** Customers can recognise SaferSIM in the offer and at compatible login points, while the operator adds a security benefit to the mobile relationship.

### 8. Protect a small-company CRM with SaferSIM

**Goal:** Give internal users access to shared contacts, companies, tasks, meetings, documents and calendars according to their certified organisation role.

**Organisation inputs:**

- Organisation, internal groups and external contact groups
- User identities, roles and visibility rules
- Contact owners and responsible users
- Calendar, email and document integration settings
- Retention, backup, audit and notification policies

**Result:** A user signs in with SaferSIM and sees only the organisation data allowed by the assigned role and groups. Organisation-owned records remain with the organisation when an individual user account changes or is removed.

## Deutsch – Kurzreferenz
